This mountain and wild themed writing workshop will explore:
- What is wild?
- Discussion of wild themes
- Discussion of relevant genres, including poetry, fiction, non-fiction, essay, and song
- Voluntary sharing and consideration of participants' work in progress (if any) and writing done while in the workshop
- Writing time and suggestions for future writing
Banff Poet Laureate Steven Ross Smith has published poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and arts journalism in a career spanning over four decades. He has published thirteen books, and his literary work appears in print, audio, and video in Canada, the United States, and further abroad. Steven has taught and assisted writers of all ages in workshops, mentorships, and classrooms.
This program is hosted by Banff Public Library and the Banff Poet Laureate Committee and is funded by private citizens and the Town of Banff's Community Grants Program.
