New Opening Hours

Sep 02, 2020

Starting September 8, the Library will be open to the public Monday through Sunday from 12:00pm-4:00pm, excluding stat holidays. We will also be offering services by appointment every day from 10:00am-12:00pm, as well as pick-up and home delivery services for those who might prefer more physical distance at this time.

During our regular hours, patrons will be welcome to browse the collection, pick up holds from other library locations, use the public computers/printer, and access quiet study areas. Exam proctoring services will also be available.

Public seating and the number of public computer stations will be limited, and patrons are encouraged to limit their stay to 60 minutes. Members from the same household are welcome to visit the Library together, but children must remain with their parents/caregivers at all times.

Please refrain from visiting the Library if you might be experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, runny nose, sore throat, etc. If you have traveled outside of the country in the last 14 days or have been in close contact with someone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days, you must remain at home and are legally required to isolate.

As per the Town of Banff's Temporary Mask Bylaw, library patrons must wear a mask while visiting the Library, and single-use, non-medical masks will be available at the front entrance. Library staff will also be wearing masks in the public area. Information on the proper use, cleaning, and disposal of non-medical masks can be found on the Alberta Government's website.

Hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes will be available throughout the building, and all high-touch surface areas, such as keyboards, touchscreens, tabletops, countertops, door handles, etc., will be sanitized on a regular basis. The washrooms will be open to the public and monitored for cleanliness on a regular basis as well. All borrowed library items will be quarantined for 72 hours upon return.

Banff Public Library is committed to providing a safe and welcoming space to our patrons and staff, and we will continue to monitor the COVID-19 updates from the Alberta Government and the Town of Banff to inform our services and procedures.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we help to maintain the health and wellness of our community, and we look forward to seeing you at the Library again soon!

Please note that as the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we may need to cancel/postpone our in-house and pick-up and home delivery services without notice.
