Aurora Claire Borin |
![]() Aurora spent 30 years of her life not knowing who she was, who she wanted to be, or what kind of life she would want to lead. Today, Aurora is an inter-sectional feminist, queer, socialist, geek, cosplayer, Wiccan Priestess, gamer, dog lover, musician, artist, friend, activist, and more. In other words, she is one of those Social Justice Warriors you hear about on the internet. She is a fierce advocate for LGBTQ2S+ folx, regularly speaking with health care providers, businesses, NGOs, and municipal governments about the struggles we face and how to create more inclusive, diverse spaces. She has been privileged to speak before thousands at the Women's March on Calgary, as well as at Power of Being a Girl conferences, Trans Day of Remembrance vigils, and many other important markers in the lives of girls, women, and 2SLGBTQ+ communities. She is a successful career musician and is highly acclaimed throughout Calgary and the Bow Valley for her abilities as a collaborative pianist and educator. Her work has been described as brilliant, but more to her liking, she was once called a "Force of Nature". She is honoured to be trusted to support and work with young musicians as they develop into mature artists and humans. Aurora lives in Banff with her dog Cassie, who is the best dog. Cassie is always adorable and never anything less than perfect. Aurora herself is bi/pansexual and has a transgender history. |

Alanna J. Brown |
Alanna J. Brown is a singer/songwriter/arranger from Toronto. After years of experimenting with different instruments, she began performing solo shows of original guitar and vocal music in downtown Toronto while attending high school. Alanna was in multiple indie-rock and folk groups and spent her late teens touring around Canada performing at various festivals and music venues. She followed her dream of becoming a professional musician to Humber College where she studied under some of the world's most accomplished jazz musicians, received her Honours Bachelor of Music, and recorded her first EP of original music, "Tuesday's Coming," accompanied by a string quintet. A few years later, Alanna was back in the studio with producer Jeff Wolpert recording her first full-length original album, "Accelerate," featuring astounding musicians like Hugh Marsh, Jonathan Goldsmith, and the Gryphon Trio. In May 2020, Alanna released another album of original music, "Said I Was Shy," recorded in Banff National Park, where she has lived for the past 6 years. Alanna performs almost every evening at hotels, restaurants, festivals, and weddings and tours her original music around Western Canada.
